Most money apps are built around a server that holds your portfolio. OffGridWealth was built so that no such server exists. Here is exactly what that means.
What stays on your device
- Every statement you import, and everything read from it
- Your holdings, transactions, assets, loans and policies
- Your goals, plans, family profiles and notes
- Your reports and PDFs, saved where you choose
- Your app password — it is never sent anywhere, so it can’t be reset by anyone
Because there is no server, a forgotten app password cannot be recovered. Keep it somewhere safe, and keep a backup.
What goes out, and when
The app connects to the internet only for things you switch on yourself:
- Refresh NAV downloads the day’s public fund-price list from AMFI. If AMFI is unreachable, it asks public price services (mfapi.in, mf.captnemo.in) for the funds you hold, by their public scheme code or name.
- Index history for fund health and benchmarks downloads once, when you tap for it.
- Find a fund downloads the public list of schemes once, and keeps it on your device.
- Google Drive backup, if you connect it, sends your backup file to a folder in your Google Drive. The app can see only the files it saved there, and you can disconnect at any time.
The price and fund-list requests carry none of your details — no name, PAN, folio numbers or amounts. The Google Drive backup goes to your own account, never to ours. Turn on fully offline mode and all of these stop.

Files come in. Public prices come in when you ask. Your backup goes only to a folder you pick, or to your own Google Drive. Nothing else moves.

Keep the backup file on this computer or phone, save dated copies wherever you like, or connect your own Google Drive and let the app back up once a day. The settings screen says exactly what is connected and when it last ran.

App password
Encrypts everything the app saves with AES-256, and is asked for each time it opens.
Privacy mode
One tap hides every amount on every screen. Handy on a train, or in a meeting.
Google Drive backup
Optional. Connect your own Drive and the app keeps a dated backup there once a day, encrypted if you set a password. Disconnect whenever you like.
Fully offline mode
No price or index downloads at all. Statements alone keep the app working.
Backups you hold
A backup file on this computer or phone, updated after every change, plus a dated copy whenever you want one — encrypted first if you set a password.
Automatic backups
The app saves a copy by itself before an import, a restore or a clear. The last five are kept on the device.
What we don’t do.
No account
There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no customer database.
No tracking
No analytics inside the app, no advertising IDs, no crash reports sent without you.
No selling
No ads, no funds, loans or policies to push. The app earns only when you buy it.
